Joan Miró is one of my favorite artists. I love his cheerful colors and his spontaneous style. I most admire the way in which he achieves maximum effect with minimal resources; a stripe, two colors and a sphere can make a big impact out of his hands with a viewer like me. With Miró, simplicity is only appearance. A closer look sees courage, depth, primitivism and surrealism. And of course I can’t help borrowing his style from time to time. I set the lines, watch what happens and come up with the title afterwards. In this case it became “Viking invasion”. Thanks to the great master from Catalonia.
